Program: 

This presentation will inform consultants, engineers, contractors, designers, and fire and building code officials about significant changes in key industry documents. Keeping up-to-date on such changes is a crucial part of continuing education and helps promote designs and installations that are compliant with the latest standards.

The program offers an informative discussion of new and updated International Code Council (ICC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements, including such topics as in-building emergency responder communications, manual pull stations, low-frequency audible fire alarm signals, visible notification appliances, emergency voice alarm communication (EVAC) systems, carbon monoxide (CO) detection systems, smoke detection, two-way stairway communication systems, mass notification risk analysis for Group E occupancies, and lithium ion battery energy storage systems (ESS). Presenter: Richard Roberts, Senior Industry Affairs Manager, Honeywell Fire Safety

Richard Roberts has over 35 years in the fire alarm and life safety markets. His experience spans the installation, sales, and the development of products and systems. Mr. Roberts is currently a member of thirteen NFPA Technical Committees, several ICC Fire Code Action Committee (FCAC) Working Groups, two Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Standards Technical Panels (STP), and the Model Codes Committee of the National National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM).  He serves on the Board of Directors for the Fire and Life safety Section (FLSS) of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC), Center for Campus Fire Safety (CCFS), and is the Chair of NEMA’s Building Codes Committee.
